Whether you’re celebrating the holidays or spending more time indoors, this time of year offers you opportunities to start annual wintertime activities and create memories. We asked Team Tula to share some of their own favourite traditions in hopes that it would inspire your Holiday bucket list for the rest of December!

1. Read Your Favourite Books of the Season

Storybooks that we all love seem to centre around this time of year, so it’s the perfect time to introduce your child to winter-themed stories and cuddle under a Tula Blanket.

2. Visit A Christmas Market

Check out your local Christmas Market to look for unique, handmade gifts and enjoy the lights and smells of Christmas. It’s a wonderful way to ignite the holiday spirit and have a fun outing with your family. Just don't forget your Tula baby carrier to stay close and cozy!

3. Listen to Festive Holiday Music

While decorating the tree or crafting with family, turn on that holiday music to signal to the whole family that the season has arrived.

Here are some festive tunes that never fail to get us dancing into the Christmas spirit!

Merry Xmas Everybody – Slade
Jingle Bell Rock – Bobby Helms
Step into Christmas – Elton John
All I Want for Christmas is You – Mariah Carey
Rockin’ Around the Christmas Tree – Brenda Lee
Christmas Wrapping – The Waitresses
Christmas (Baby Please Come Home) – Darlene Love
Santa Claus is Coming to Town – Jackson 5

 4. Bake Holiday Cookies

Holiday cookies are perfect for baking with your children and enjoying them at your own winter festivities. YUM!

5. Create Your Own DIY Ornaments

When the ornaments come out to decorate the tree, a lot of memories from Christmas past return. That's why we think making ornaments with your children is a meaningful activity that is sure to be memorable. Take your little ones to a paint your own ceramic shop or create one of these DIY ornaments at home.

6. Explore your Local Holiday Events

Going to local events during the holiday season is a wonderful way to experience winter activities and the grander holiday spirit with the whole family. If you are in the London area, check out this list of fun Christmas events and if not, there’s sure to be similar holiday events near you! Just plan to bring a baby carrier if you anticipate big crowds and a lot of walking.

During a time when you're getting the whole family together, why not make it really memorable with some gingerbread house building. It is a fun crafty activity that is enjoyed by adults and kids alike. Get inspired by these incredible gingerbread creations we found.

9. Go see a Pantomime

Christmas is the perfect time to go to the theatre and fully immerse into the magical world that´s created on stage. Be sure to check what your local theatre has planned for Christmas.

10. Watch a Christmas Film

Winter weather might keep you indoors, so add a classic holiday movie, some hot cocoa, and snuggles under a Cuddle Me blanket to turn your time indoors into a fun family night. Here is a list of some our all-time favourite holiday movies

11. Make Hot Cocoa

Speaking of hot cocoa, here is a three-ingredient hot cocoa recipe that is sure to make your movie night extra memorable during the holidays.

12. Leave a Treat for Father Christmas

Ask your kids, if they want to leave a small treat and a carrot out for Father Christmas to help keep him going on his long journey delivering all the presents to good boys and girls. And make sure to not forget about his reindeer, who are doing all the hard work! Leave them a carrot. And if you are up for more Christmas crafts, you could even create your own Father Christmas Plate.

Let us know what activities you enjoy this time of year and if Tula will be part of your winter memories!
