Through our Signature Collection, we are able to work with artisan-crafted material and companies who have an incredible mission. We welcome a new collaboration with a brand dedicated to creating sustainable fair trade jobs in Guatemala to promote traditional craftsmanship and slow fashion. With Mikoleon, we bring you beautiful designs woven by artisan weavers within fair trade and crafted into Signature Carriers and Hip Pouches, as well as Signature Artisan Carriers made with vintage fabric sourced by Mikoleon. We’re not only happy to showcase their incredible work through our Baby Tula x Mikoleon collection but to collaborate on their sustainable and fair trade efforts.
Mikoleon is a robust creator of apparel and footwear that is hand-crafted, artisanal, eco-cool, up-cycled, 100% cotton, chemical and dye-free, fair trade, reduces CO2, and sustainable! Mikoleon is driven by their love for naturally made things which they want to pass onto our children.
The material they create for our collaborations is limited edition, hand-loomed cotton woven in the highlands of Guatemala by Mayan master weavers using century-old techniques. This natural cotton is ultra-soft and chemical-free.
In addition to the opportunity to support the Guatemalan weaving community with the Baby Tula x Mikoleon designs, we are delighted to provide additional support through a donation to Obras Sociales del Hermano Pedro. Mikoleon has been donating to Obras Sociales del Hermano Pedro for over 6 years which mostly supports babies needing time in the NICU while waiting to return home with their families. We will be donating a portion of the proceeds for every carrier or hip pouch sold within the Baby Tula x Mikoleon collection.
